33145500 - Universal Combustion Leakage Tester - HGV

Description

A combustion leak tester is a crucial diagnostic tool for detecting leaks in the sealing between the combustion chamber and the cooling system - most often due to blown cylinder head gaskets, cracked heads, or warped engine blocks. By sampling the gases in the coolant, it quickly and reliably indicates whether exhaust gases are infiltrating where they shouldn't be, instantly helping identify the root of engine issues.

Ideal for heavy-duty applications, this tool saves diagnostic time, prevents expensive misdiagnosis, and helps protect against unnecessary disassembly and repair.

Key Features of the Universal HGV Model

  • Fast & Reliable Diagnosis – Quickly spots cylinder head gasket and combustion chamber leaks.
  • 25–50 mm Cone – Universal fit across a broad range of HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) inlet sizes.
  • Dual Fuel Compatibility – Works seamlessly with both petrol and diesel HGV engines.
  • Complete Testing Kit – Comes with both standard and sensitive reaction fluids for precise leak detection in varied conditions.

How It Works

  1. Prime the tester with standard or sensitive reaction fluid depending on the degree of sensitivity required.
  2. Attach the cone to the radiator or expansion tank opening (25–50 mm).
  3. Run the engine to allow any combustion gases to pass into the tester.
  4. Monitor the fluid for a visible color change - if it changes, a combustion leak is present.

Replacement Fluids & Spare Parts

  • 33194200 Reaction Fluid (Standard) – 250 ml bottle
  • 33194400 Reaction Fluid (Sensitive) – 250 ml bottle
